Membership FAQ
What’s the process to join?
KCCC uses a multi-step on-boarding process:
- Start by submitting an application and payment of current years dues (plus and initiation fee). Applications can be submitted in person, on paper, at the club with payment in cash or online with (optional) payment via credit card.
- Applications are first vetted by the KCCC Executive board. The board during the second week of each month. Keep this in mind when submitting an application; if you submit mid-month it may be a few weeks before the process can get started.
- With Exec vetting complete, new members will be invited to the next General meeting at the club (4th of Tuesday each month) where they will be presented to the membership and voted in.
- Next, new members are required to complete three “visits” to the club and a safety orientation before being granted full membership.
- Once you’ve completed the safety and club visit requirements the membership chair will issue a Key FOB for the club allowing 24-hour access and your member ID.
How much are dues this year?
Dues are as follows:
– Existing Members renewing: Current dues are $102/year.
– New members: $102 + initiation fee of $39 ($141 total first year).
Note: For new members only: Starting in September KCCC dues for current year are pro-rated and charged with next years dues at time of sign-up.
When are membership dues due?
Membership runs from January 1 to December 31 every year. Dues are due by December 31 each year to renew for next year. Late payment includes a late penalty equal to the initiation fee.
Note: In order to qualify to vote in November’s executive election you must already have renewed for next year.
When can I renew?
Renewal for next calendar year opens up September 1st each year.
What’s the point of the new member club “visits”?
KCCC is a volunteer run club for individuals with a shared passion, not a service club that provides “range access” for a fee. As such, we like to get to know all new members. As an executive is required to sign for each visit this ensures new members are coming by the club when it’s open (and an exec would will be available) for an event (like Trap or a tactical shoot) and gives us a chance to get to know you.
How do I book my safety orientation?
Contact the Range Chair via the website contact us section. Information on contacting the current chairperson will also be include in the welcome email from KCCC Membership once you’ve been voted in at a general meeting.
